Chaman Vatika’ was established as a tribute to the great thinker and educationist, Lala Chaman Lal Ji (1899-1972), who in 1921 became the youngest Principal of the biggest school in Punjab known as Sain Das Anglo Sanskrit High School, Jallandhar City. At the age of 24, he was enrolled as a Life Member of D.A.V.
School Campus
The classrooms are large, airy and well lighted. The dormitories are spacious, well furnished and well ventilated. Separate hostels are provided for girls and boys with facilities of attached bathrooms and running hot as well as cold water. There is a six bedded sick bay for the boys and a four bedded sick bay for the girls.

Admission
Admission is open for limited seats up to Class XI. Registration and school Prospectus with video cassettes can be obtained from the school against payment of Rs 300/-.
Sports
It is essential for children to learn swimming, karate, billiards, golf, handball, volleyball, football, badminton, table tennis, basketball and Skating.
The school has a big swimming pool, vast playgrounds and well equipped halls for indoor games. Special disciplines taught to NCC cadets, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Red Cross Volunteers also form an essential part of the curriculum. An international size skating rink is a special feature of the school.
Extra Curricular Activities
Children are exposed to activities like reading, sketching, writing, cartooning, gardening etc. Skating, taekwondo and swimming are compulsory games. Children are trained in the art of public speaking.
Children who remain in school during the mid-semester break are taken on educational tours and camps.
