The school is a maiden venture of Vidya Devi Jindal Development trust established in 1981 by Shri O. P. Jindal. The school started working in July 1984.
School Campus
Sprawled over 47 acres, the campus includes the academic wing, a utility block, a large auditorium, a health club, the sick-bay, the dinning hall with a seating capacity of 1100 students, an outdoor swimming pool, a roller skating rink and three hostels to accommodate 800 students. The school also provides accommodation for all school staff.

The school has well qualified and experienced staff of 83 teachers.

Vidya Devi Jindal School is an English medium residential institution for girls, conforming to the high standards and requirements of modern residential educational institutions. Note -
- A sum of Rs. 4000/- extra towards the cost of clothing books & stationary will be charged in addition, at he time of new admission.
- A sum of Rs. 1500/- will be charged as Pocket money for day scholars.
Admission
For admission the child has to be registered by filling the form and paying Rs. 500/- (non-refundable) as registration Fee - latest by 31st March each year. The selection of student for admission to class IV and above is made on the basis of a written test in English, Maths, Hindi, English Conversations & intelligence test, followed by medical checkup by the Resident Medical Officer. The admission is finalized on the same day.
Scholarship
The following concessions in fees are granted
- Sister Concession - 10% concessions in total school fee and other charges to real sisters studying in the school at the same time.
- Defence Concession - 20% concession to the Day scholars in total school fee and other charges to the daughters of serving/retired defence personnel - not using school transport, and 10% to those using school transport. 10% concession to Residential students in the total school fee and other charges.
- Jindal Strips Limited Staff Concessions - 50% to Day Scholars and 20% to Residential Scholars.
Sports
The school provides facilities and opportunities for a variety of games and sports - outdoor and indoor. These include basketball, tennis, badminton, throwball, swimming, table tennis, martial arts, taekwando, karate and roller skating. The school has a beautiful outdoor swimming pool for beginners, a 400 meter track and 20 x 40 meters roller skating rink. Yoga, meditation and aerobic are also a part of the daily routine.
Results/Exam
VDJS’s achievements in academics have been remarkable with more or less a cent percent results, with an overwhelming majority in the top bracket in the exams conducted by the CBSE, Delhi.
Extra Curricular Activities
In order to provide a balanced education, with equal emphasis in academic, mental, physical and cultural growth, the school provides a wide range of activities, hobbies and clubs.
